This October, Cape Cod provides a fair chance to professional & amateur runners to showcase their skills on the biggest racing platform which is the 33rd Annual Cape Cod Marathon. The Cape Cod Marathon is a very thrilling racing event which offers same level of excitement to the participants and the spectators.

The Cape Cod Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the beautiful location of Village Green Falmouth, Massachusetts. The race will blast off from the Falmouth Village Green at 8:30am on Sunday October 31st and after a single counter-clockwise loop, will finish where it started.

The Cape Cod Marathon was started in 1978 and has been a Falmouth Track Club event for the past 27 years which runs on a scenic one-loop certified course in Falmouth. Known amongst the ten “Most Scenic” marathons in America, it is estimated that this year the Marathon will attract up to 10,000 runners and world-class athletes including thousands of tourists to the Cape. The Cape Code Marathon is a spectacular event and great fun to watch or compete in.

Cape Cod Marathon Details:

The Cape Cod Marathon will be taking its participants on a twenty-six mile loop around the town. The stunning views of the entire course will certainly offer a challenging test for marathon runners. The course is relatively flat in the beginning and rolls in the second half. By the same time the visitors will also enjoy the views of almost every section of Falmouth and its neighborhoods and people.

Cape Cod Marathon Awards & Recognition:

There will be cash awards of nearly $10,000, including $2,400 for USATF-NE teams. There will also be trophies and merchandise awards, including some unique merchandise awards for random finishers. Trophies and merchandise will be awarded for women and men in the open, masters, seniors (50-59), veterans (60-69), and grand veterans (70+) divisions. There is a lot of motivation provided by the Cape Cod Marathon in the form of awards and recognition.
