The towns which are included in Lower ape are Brewster, Chatham, Harwich and Orleans. Brewster’s is considered as the most pictuCresque town among all the other towns. Many old beautiful mansions are now converted into inns. Brewster's offers its visitors events such as concerts, golf tournaments, art and culture, flea market, garden tea parties, and parade usually held in the first week of May.
Harwich is located between Cape Cod Canal and Provincetown. Harwich is famous for its world class cranberry harvest festival in September. Cranberry farming is still a very big industry in Harwich. Wychmere Harbor in Harwich Port is considered to be the most beautiful on Cape Cod. Harwich draws over 10,000 people every year. A ten-day event is celebrated on occasion of cultivation of the Native American fruit.
Chatham, a base of the US Weather Service, and Chatham Lighthouse which houses the US Coast Guard. Chatham borders both Nantucket Sound and the Atlantic. It has first class beautiful, uncrowded beaches especially the Outer Beach, accessible only by boat or oversand vehicle. The viewable sights include the Fish pier, Stage Harbor and the romantic Chatham fog which rolls in the summer nights. It holds an annual “Spring Fling” in May.
Orleans is a beautiful town. It is the unofficial business center of Lower Cape containing all the necessities of life. It is also known as the Mecca for nature lovers. It is the starting point of the world famous Nauset beach which is known for its unique topography and dramatic weather events. Bird watchers can enjoy the sight of over 300 different species of birds.
