Nantucket and its Tourist Destinations.

Nantucket is an island 30 miles south of Cape Cod in the United States.It is one of the unique, historic, and visually stunning places in the world. It is a tourist destination and also a summer colony. Originally it was a whaling port. It was earlier known as the Grey lady and later it's name was changed to Nantucket. The population of the island soars from 10,000 to 50,000 during the summer months, due to tourists and summer residents. From early April to mid May over three million daffodils of every color , shape and size bloom on the island. The blooming of Daffodils is the focal point of the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce's Annual Daffodil Festival. The Annual Antique Car Parade features over 100 antique cars. The wine festival, festival of wreaths and the festival of trees are the other awaited events held in the year.
Any visitor can take in the boutique shops and explore the art galleries and museums. It is also famous for it's theatrical performances, music, art, film,and literature. Coatue is a long barrier beach on Nantucket Island which separates Nantucket Sound from Nantucket Harbor. The other attractions are Hummock Pond, Miacomet pond, Popsquatchet Hills and Squam Swamp.
