Plymouth- A Tourist Attraction.

Plymouth is located around 40 miles south of Boston in a region of Massachusetts known as the South Shore. The town has served as the location of prominent events, the most noticeable being the First thanksgiving feast. It continues to be an active port, but today the major industry is tourism. As one of the Country' first settlements, it is well-known for its historic value. Plymouth is an economic and tourism center of the south shore of Massachusetts. Apart from tourism, health care, technical and scientific research, real estate and telecommunications are also the primary industries. Plymouth is the home of Jordan hospital, the only health care provider of the city. It is the largest hospital in the southern shore.
Plymouth Rock is one of the famous attractions in that region. Traditionally, the rock is said to be the landing site of the pilgrims but there is no historical evidence to support this theory. Plimouth plantation is a history museum located to the south of Plymouth center. The museum also features role playing tour guides as well as a large crafts center. The museum opened in 1974 under the guidance of Henry Hornblower II, a wealthy stockbroker who grew up in Plymouth. Mayflower II is a replica of the ship which brought the pilgrims to Plymouth in 1620. It is an official part Plimouth plantation.
